Iconic Worldwide Berhad, formerly known as Sanbumi Holdings Berhad, is a Bursa Malaysia listed company that is primarily involved in tourism and property businesses. Iconic Worldwide is currently expanding to transform into a significant property player in the Northern Region of Malaysia while making strong inroads nationwide.

Dato’ Tan Kean Tet, the new substantial shareholder and Managing Director of Iconic Worldwide, is at the forefront to reposition the company to achieve strong prot margins and a revitalized culture that supports healthy growth.

Dato’ Tan is the founder and chairman of Iconic Group, a Penang-based company with property development and hotel projects such as Icon City, Iconic Hotel in Seberang Perai and Iconic Skies condominium in Penang. Dato’ Tan had ventured into property development via the incorporation of Iconic Group in 2011 and subsequently expanded the business of Iconic Group into the hospitality sector in 2016. The Iconic Group has completed property development projects worth about RM600mil in gross sales value to date.

For many years, Iconic Group under Dato’ Tan’s stewardship has enjoyed an admirable stature as a reputable and outstanding developer in the northern region, and his collective experience played a crucial role in orchestrating the currently ongoing collaboration projects between Iconic Group and the formerly known Sanbumi which is expected to guide the latter towards a brighter future ahead.

The aforementioned projects include:

1. A joint-venture agreement between Sanbumi Holdings's wholly-owned unit Sanbumi Sawmill Sdn Bhd with Iconic Group’s wholly-owned unit Iconic Development Sdn Bhd, to develop a key commercial centre and landmark in Penang. Named Iconic Point, it will have a gross development value of RM127mil.

2. A hotel management agreement between Sanbumi with Lucky 888 Sdn Bhd, an affiliated company to Iconic Group, for the provision of services to Iconic Hotel. This will provide a stable recurring revenue and additional income stream to Iconic Worldwide in the financial years to come.
